The Background

My name is Thomas Novak. I first visited Bohemia in 2018 on what was supposed to be a long weekend in Prague. I ended up staying for two weeks and have been returning regularly since then.

What started as personal notes about routes and places became this website when I realised that most of the travel information available for Bohemia was either outdated, superficial, or written by people who had clearly spent three days there and called it research.

I am not a professional travel writer. I work in logistics, which means I spend a fair amount of time thinking about how to get from one place to another efficiently. That turns out to be useful when writing route guides.

What This Site Covers

Saxosezate focuses on tourist routes through Bohemia — the western and central part of the Czech Republic. The guides cover practical information: how to get there, what to see, how long things take, what costs money, and what is worth the money.

I do not write about hotels or restaurants in detail because those things change. I focus on the places and routes themselves, which are more stable.

How the Guides Are Written

Every route described on this site is one I have walked personally, usually more than once. I update the guides when I revisit and find that something has changed — ticket prices, opening hours, trail conditions. The date at the top of each article reflects when it was last checked.

I do not accept sponsored content, press trips, or payment for recommendations. The guides reflect what I actually found, including the things that did not work well.

Contact

If you have questions about a specific route, or if you have visited somewhere covered here and found that the information is out of date, please get in touch through the contact page. I read all messages, though I cannot always respond quickly.
